CAMP M.I.D.: Minimum Intervention for Community Dentistry
PDA 108th Annual Convention & Scientific Meeting; May 1, 2017
SMX Convention Center, Seashell Drive, Mall of Asia Complex
Pasay City Philippines

This one-day symposium will highlight evidence-based strategies aimed at addressing the severe and chronic problem of caries among Filipinos. Learn updates from Dr. Fenella on prenatal care for the Mom and for child until 2 years of age (the first 1000 days), which is the critical period when good oral health begins. Dr. Ryan will discuss infection control within the context of emergency treatment in community-based settings (Oral Urgent Treatment or OUT), a mandatory procedure especially with the rise of HIV cases all over the country. Dr. Noel will tackle appropriate technologies in addressing small to deep caries, specifically the use of glass ionomer sealants for pits and fissures, surface protection for smooth surface caries and other uses of fluoride toothpaste in arresting lesions through Ultra Conservative Treatment (UCT), which was introduced by Dr. Jo Frencken. Dr. Prathip will discuss the Simple and Modified Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (SMART) through partial caries removal and the use of glass ionomers for primary teeth. This symposium is meant for health center and government dentists, PDA officers and volunteers who engage in community dentistry, and for private practitioners who wish to practice non-invasive dentistry for their patients!

  1. I would like to attend the meeting and would like to know if I could pre-register. Please give details. Additionally, where is the site of the Malamed meeting on Sunday and where will the rest of the meeting be taking place if different?

  2. There’s 3 of us who attended same lectures on the same time and at the same dates, but when our certificates were given, 2 of us got 9cpd hours but the other one got only 6. What happened?….
