Topic: Pre-Surgical Naso-Alveolar Molding for Correction of Cleft Lip & Palate Deformity
Abstract: Cleft Palate is a common congenital maxillofacial defect that has a significant effect on an infant’s life. One problem with clefts is the interference with feeding. To obtain better nutritional intake prior to surgical correction, a naso-alveolar molding appliance is recommended. The purpose of this lecture is to introduce an effective, simple & cost effective appliance that will provide adequate feeding & molding therapy to a compromised cleft infant.
